Lorraine Sutton is an experienced performer, instructor and advocate of the joys of traditional folk and country dance. She has energetically facilitated dance events for community groups, contra dance series, special community events and folk festivals in both Manitoba and Ontario including Mill Race, Summerfolk, Mariposa, Goderich, Homecounty and many others.
Lorraine is a graduate of the Recreational Leadership Training Program in Community Dance sponsored by the Manitoba Government, reaching Advanced Instructor level in 1979. Most recently, Lorraine completed the English Country Dance Instructors course with Brad Foster at the CDSS camp Pinewoods.
Lorraine was a member of the Winnipeg/St. Boniface French Canadian Step dance Troupe Les Danseurs de la Riviere Rouge from 1977-1980.

Lorraine has been the resident caller at AlgomaTrad and The Woods music and dance camps. Lorraine is also calling for the Toronto English Country Dance Assembly Event - February 25, 2017 in Toronto, at the Ralph Thornton Centre, Queen Street East.
As a dancer, she has been a participant at Pinewoods, Augusta Heritage Festival-West Virginia, NEFFA, Flurries, Rochester Thanksgiving weekend, Waterloo, New Haven, New York. Lorraine has worked with a range of bands including: Brian Pickell, Shane Cook, Flapjack, Murphy’s Law, Anne Lederman, Dan MacDonald, Anne Lindsay, Alec Sinclair, Ian Bell, Duncan Cameron and many others.

- calls at festivals including Mariposa, Goderich, Summerfolk, Home Country, Milford Fair and Mill Race
